Meet the Principal Attorney

of the Law Office of David J. Grummon, PA

David J. Grummon

The son and grandson of American Baptist ministers and missionaries, David Grummon grew up in the rural town of Beloit, Kansas.  While in high school, he spent a year as an exchange student learning Spanish in southern Mexico, and returned with a passion to serve the kind of people he met there.  After graduating from Ottawa University in 1999, he was accepted to the KU School of Law, where he represented clients as part of the Douglas County Legal Aid Clinic and with Illinois Migrant Farmworker Legal Aid.  Upon graduating in 2002, he started his own law practice in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, focusing on serving mostly Spanish-speakers, immigrants and other clients facing adversity in the areas of Traffic, Criminal Defense and Worker’s Compensation.

Over the last 14 years of practice, David has achieved a high level of client satisfaction through his representation in municipal, state, appellate and federal courts in both Kansas and Missouri, with over 80 percent of his cases coming from past client referrals.  Through both trial and negotiation, David has successfully litigated some of the most challenging cases, including criminal representation of adults and juveniles with mental health diagnoses and those at risk of severe immigration consequences as a result of their criminal charges.  More importantly, David has built a law practice around the hallmarks of respect, compassion, communication and attention to detail.

During this time, David has also served the community on the Board of Trustees for Ottawa University, the Board of Directors for the Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equity, the Wyandotte Economic Community Development Corporation, the Advisory Board for 500 REACH, and various boards and committees at Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village, Kansas. He lives with his wife and their two children in Shawnee, Kansas.
